Ashby Funhouse Comedy & Curry Night

LAUGHTER IN ASHBY–DE–LA-ZOUCH

Funhouse Comedy brings another great line-up of comedians to the Lyric Rooms, Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Thursday February 6th. 

Topping the bill is slightly camp, middle-class funny man Hal Cruttenden. Having a background in professional acting he has made numerous TV appearances, including ‘Live at The Apollo’, ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’, ‘The Royal Variety Performance’, ‘The Rob Brydon Show’,  ‘Let’s Dance for Comic Relief’, ’Would I Lie To You’, ’Sunday Night at the Palladium’,  ‘Mock The Week’, ’The Great British Bake Off – Extra Slice’, ‘Celebrity Squares’, and Pointless Celebrities. With his ability to mix the personal, the surreal, the ridiculous and the political he delivers an energetic and absorbing performance.

Opening the night will be the animated Sean Heydon, one of the country's premier comedy magicians, who has appeared on various TV shows, including Britain’s Got Talent where he got a unanimous 4 yesses from the judges and Channel 4's Paul O’Grady Show, as the resident illusionist. With his unique style, he captivates the crowds, often receiving standing ovations.

Also appearing will be plummy, funny and firey, Diane Spencer, an award-winning comedian with a rapidly growing YouTube channel of over 10K subscribers and 1 million views. She has performed worldwide including The Laugh Factory and world famous Improv (LA), received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and appeared on several TV programmes including Red Light Comedy Live from Amsterdam.

Completing the line-up is Irish charmer Kieran Lawless with his amusingly clever and deceptive tales.

Compere for the night will be the chatty and cheerful Spiky Mike.

Curry with your comedy?

Why not save on the washing up and enjoy a home-made authentic curry before the show. We use local producers and suppliers and receive rave reviews on our chef's speciality curries. Curries are just £7.50 and are served with special steamed rice and a naan.

No need to reserve your curry just visit the stage upon arrival. Also don't forget to leave room for our gorgeous home-made traditional desserts, or grab Vanessa (not literally!), for an interval local dairy ice cream from the wonderful cows at Bluebells for just £3.00 a tub.
