About the event

LAUGHTER IN ASHBY–DE–LA-ZOUCH

Funhouse Comedy Club brings another line-up of top comedians to the Lyric Rooms, Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Thursday November 2nd.

Topping the bill is Presenter, Broadcaster, Writer, Actor and Comedian Ian Stone. An International comedian, including performing for the troops, he has made numerous TV and Radio appearances including ‘Mock The Week’, ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ and ‘Saturday Live’. He wrote for ‘The Omid Djalili show’ on BBC1, ‘The Sketch Show’ on ITV and ‘Alistair McGowan’s Big Impression’ on BBC 1. Audiences can’t get enough of his edgy and challenging approach, which is supported by a relaxed and excusatory manner.

Opening the night will be true cockney, Jeff Innocent who was last year crowned winner of British Comedian of the Year at London's iconic Comedy Store,

comic, actor and star of both radio and TV, his last role being in ‘Call the Midwife’; in 2016 he was voted Best Live Comedian by his fellow professionals. Looking like a bouncer but with the intellect of a university professor his sharp wit and confident charm draws the audience into his lair, then he

entertains them with his diverse mix of somewhat surreal subjects.

Also appearing is the intrinsically funny Lloyd Griffith comedian, choirboy and an ‘aspiring’ goalkeeper who has supported Jack Whitehall and Rob Beckett

on tour. He has also made numerous TV appearances including as regular host on Sky Sports' Soccer AM and on Comedy Central Live at The Comedy Store.

As a choirboy in Grimsby, he sang on ‘The National Lottery, with Dudley Moore who played the piano. Then later in life sang backing

vocals on a Bee Gees album. A professionl singer but always a natural jester he turned to stand-up and with his down-to-earth cynicism and lively attitude, he enthrals the crowd.
